LESSON FAQs

Q. I don't have my own saddle or grooming equipment but I want to take lessons. What should I do?

A. For those students who take lessons, there is tack and grooming equipment available for each horse.

Q. I've never ridden before but I want to take lessons. Is that ok?

A. We have many well-trained school horses and ponies with which to teach you. Why wait any longer? Contact August Farm today!

Q. What time should I arrive prior to the start of my lesson?

A. Students should arrive approximately 1/2 hour before a lesson to groom and tack up their horse.

Q. What should I wear for my lesson?

A. Students should wear long pants and a sturdy boot/shoe with a one-inch heel. An ASTM/SEI riding helmet is mandatory. If you don't own one, the barn has several that you may borrow. No tank tops allowed.
